Essay: Trade and Technology in the 16th and 21st Centuries
Most of the explorers who became colonizers were driven by similar factors, which include among others, the need to spread Christianity and education, to acquire wealth in terms of mineral deposits such as gold and silver, and fertile land for agriculture and most importantly to establish trade among countries (Jensen).
For instance, Christopher Columbus of Spain discovered the potentiality of America in the course of his exploration and led to its colonization. However, despite the many negative effects associated with colonization, it helped in enlightening people on the importance of trade among many others. In this regard, this paper is for the purpose of comparing and contrasting trade and technology in the 16th and 21st centuries.
