The cybercrime poses a major threat to the eCommerce due to the high risks involved with the businesses. The severity of the computer related crimes in Ecommerce was revealed when hackers attacked the US government official websites and the York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq and afterward South Korea government websites in 2009. (Voigt, online). To mitigate such attacks, international security laws on cybercrime need to formulated and implemented.
Over reliance con the credit cards and social security numbers has triggered the rise a new cybercrime referred to as the theft identity. Identity theft costs the victims financial cost and the individuals’ personal reputation especially where the card numbers are used for ill practices like borrowing money.
