Essay: Is Physical Punishment the Right Method to punish Children
Physical punishment is sought by many parents as being the right method of punishing their kids since they too were spanked by their parents. It should be noted that even though it makes the misbehavior stop, physical form of punishment has long-term negative effects on the children. When we listen to the news in the media, we learn of so many street children who run to save themselves from the hands of their relatives.
Others engage in the worst form of evils including robbery and rape cases after they realize that no one cares for them in the world. Most of the people who end up in drugs are running form the reality after they realize that they will never leave in peace without scolding or beatings even after committing minor mistakes. Other children harden up and are ready for anything after they get used to beatings and punishments. Once children get used to domestic violence, they will practice it in schools where they will live in chaos with all the other children. They will also probably bring up their children with very harsh punishments (FamilyEducation, 2010). Physical punishment leads to long-term aggression.
