Essay: Minimizing Insecurity in the Aviation Industry
One of the most important areas in minimizing insecurity in the aviation industry is the ability to assess risk in the areas concerned. A passenger may cause a fake threat that he or she is harmed so the crew are trained on how to such situations. One of the most important things is to cooperate with the demands of such person because it might turn how to be true. The security should start at the airport where by the authorities concerned should make sure that the airport is built in a secure place where it is possible to monitor the security of the airport from outside forces. Airports are built in secluded places where by it is possible to monitor every body that is willing to enter in to the airport. When this is accomplished then all those accessing the ports are screened for any weapons they may be carrying. (Stewart, Mark G.; Mueller, John 2008)
It is important to have distinct terminals for commercial planes and the passenger terminal. The passenger terminal is the one that poses the greatest risk to the airport facility so it should have extra security personnel. Security personnel are always on the look out for those who might cause trouble in the port. They situated in strategic positions to monitor the whole place because a threat can come from any direction.
Though the measures taken to prevent any criminal activity happening in the aviation industry are tight, sometimes they fail. After such a threat is detected when it is past all the security checks, it is important for any body that is in the vicinity to cooperate with the threatening person. It is worthy noting that every body can help reducing the chances of a disaster happening. Measures have been put in place where by each customer is done full body screening to detect the presence of any weapon even if it is in under wear. When this is done then chances are almost nil for anyone to bypass the security checks.
