In reference to the article by Jim Motavalli, Toyota problems with breaking system and acceleration are a repeated problem. But the firm’s spokesmen have continuously claimed that that this has been a minor problems unlike in the case of where client complained of re-occurrence of the braking system a few days after days after being recalled. Though the spokespersons claimed that recalling was not a solution, but the long lasting solution could be addressed by looking at the deep root cause of the problem.
In another case concerning this problem, Toyota’s spokesperson, Michels noted, “We have a couple of cases of errors being made in the installation of the remedy. It’s a handful of cases.” (Motavalli) That is clear indication that the firm new something was wrong with their products. more so, Toyota responded by recalling, apologizing, and produced supportive commercial and forgot to address the root of problem. It ignored the safety concern of its clients.
There is a case where the professor testified to the congress having “found an electronic glitch in Toyota’s pedal systems” (ibid). Though he was willing to work with Toyota about the glitch sending wrong signal to the system software, Toyota dismissed the issue having unlikely to happen.
