Essay: Lessons Learnt from September 11
There are several lessons to be learned from the September 11 attacks if lives are to be saved in future accidents or attacks. It is important to note that the attacks used planes as their weapons of choice. All passengers entering in to airports and in to planes should be screened thoroughly for any weapons. It is hard for an unharmed man to commandeer a plane, as he ought to get resistance from the crew and the other passengers. The cockpits of all planes should be secured to avoid any intrusion. This would go a long way in ensuring that unauthorized persons do not gain access of the control of planes. It is imperative to note that there are very many heroes in our midst as was evidenced by the firefighters as they tried to find survivors during the inferno. Every member of the society should be responsible for his or actions since there is no point of hurting innocent people. The fact that the 9/11 atrocities were coordinated by Muslims should not be used as an excuse for incriminating all Muslims. Every member of the society should be treated as an individual but not as someone belonging to a certain group. When screening is been done in airports all passengers should be subjected to the same level of treatment.
