Essay: The End of Graduate School
The end of graduate school is something worth looking forward to, rather than feared. It is like a rite of passage that has to come, so instead of one fearing its inevitability, one should embrace it, and make the most of it,
because he/she has achieved what they set out to do. He states in songs of parting ‘…as time draws nigh…as they draw to a close, joy, shipmate, joy…’ (1, 11-12). He continues in Second annex: Goodbye my fancy ‘…my 71st year…an ended day…when the full grown poet came…the rounded catalogue, divine complete’ (6, 9, 21, and 26).
