Feudalism helped advance colonialism because when the Europeans conquered new territory, they took over the land, meaning that it was under their specific leader. They then rented the land from the leader, and made the natives of the territories they had conquered into their slaves.
The natives then had to relinquish whatever rights they had and serve the strangers who had taken over their land. They had to work for these new land owners, serve them and be their slaves. This was because everything they worked for belonged to their lords, who would then pay tax to the mother country.
