Education should be an imminent, well reflected and a reasoned enterprise
In this regard, the education acquired by the student should not be interpreted literally but the student should be able to grasp the essential matter in what s/he learns from the teacher.
The Sephardic vision of religious identity, therefore, emphasized the precise reading of Hebrew verses and a rational understanding of biblical texts. Ashkenazic education did not emphasize accentuation or correct reading. Nor did it focus on rational understanding. Instead, it stressed the religious meaning of the Bible as interpreted in rabbinic lore. A minimum level of development is required to teach youngsters the linguistic and thinking skills required for Sephardic exegesis. Additionally, an extended period of growth is required to attain a mature understanding of the text.
