When working alone, workers would not feel isolated from the co-workers. With this solitude, it becomes very difficult to the employee to get someone to interact with and discus ideas relating to the office duties. The employee output would be highly reduced to the extent that it affects the company’s operations.
Most the time when you are not in the office, it would take some effort for you to be remembered at your workplace. The only way available to counter this is by ensuring that your work speaks best for you (Haines, 2010).
It is very difficult for the organization to coordinate all the employees working at various sites. This will usually make it very easy for these employees to work as expected of them.
When working from various locations, there is fear that the organization’s system may be at risk. Intruders may hack the system and gain access to every vital information or even worse, cause system failure. This is not very good for the company.
Company culture cannot be observed more keenly. This is because, while working at home, no one is there to ensure that you follow the organization culture (Alison 2010). Issues like dress code will not be adhered to.
There are some legal issues that are not still very clear concerning working from home. The big question is, what happens if an employee is working on a task from home, and then he is involved in an accident? Such valid issues need to be addressed sufficiently.
