Essay: Development of a child’s personality
Biological maturation and other biological dispositions are known to control individuals’ personality. Personality theorist agree with the view that the environment does not play a role as influential as biology in determining personality. They argue tat the environment may or may not provide the required ingredients in establishing a specific personality. However, personalities a deep rooted in the social set ups of different cultures (Heather, 2005, p. 35).
This leads to an assertion that early differences in individual personalities are strongly rooted on temperament differences. These temperaments are strongly founded on genetic parameters within individual’s genes. These genetically founded temperaments influence the physiology of an individual and eventually transferring the same influence to the external environment inducing a change in the external environment to concur with temperamental qualities.
