The characters in the movie do not have as much energy as those in the novel. When reading the novel, the choice of words helps to create a picture of the ideal Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu. They are strong and tough and they play their part well in solving the codes. In the movie, Tom Hanks plays the role of Robert Langdon and fails to deliver. He lacks the face of a serious historian or professor who would go to great lengths to solve the mystery. He is not fit for action movies compared to other actors like Samuel L Jackson. His sweet and sometimes expressionless face makes him look like he is struggling to fit into his role. The role of Sophie Neveu is played by Audrey Tatou who is very young for her job and has a sweet face that does not match up to the duties awaiting her.
I would have preferred an actress like Angelina Jolie who is known for her prowess in mystery movies. There is also no chemistry between these two people who have to work together throughout the whole movie.
