Essay: Automotive Industry Analysis
The automotive industry has its origin from different people in different countries. It dates back to the year 1769 in France when a steam-driven three-wheeler was invented. In the 1800s, the first ever internal combustion engine was invented in Belgian and later in 1885, a vehicle which was powered by gasoline was invented in Germany.
Major revolutions in the industry started in 1896 when Henry Ford built the first car and he later came up with an assembly line which was later named as Ford Motor Vehicles (Calvin, 2001). This assembly line enabled Ford to produce cars in a large scale making them more affordable and available in the local as well as the international markets. The automotive industry is affected by several factors which include political factors, demographics, economical, technological, sociocultural and market competition (Guilford, 2003).
